Exotic Cruising and Dragons Too

Island In Indonesia Adventure Smith Indonesia photo by Jennifer Hayes

Just when you thought they were running out of exotic cruise destinations and unique ships, Adventure Smith Explorations has an eye-opener. They’re offering seven day cruises in Indonesia on either Katharina, a 14-guest, traditional Indonesian “Phinisi” yacht built in 1995 of ironwood, or the 28-guest Ombak Putih, a traditional Indonesian schooner custom built from ironwood by Buginese ship builders. The ships follow the Lesser Sunda Islands, noted for active volcanoes, jungle-clad mountains and rich wildlife, including Komodo Island, with its famed Komodo dragons. Visiting a different island every day there will be opportunities to snorkel and explore uninhabited beaches.
